Time’s wingèd chariot hurrying near

But at my back I always hear
Time’s wingèd chariot hurrying near;
And yonder all before us lie
Deserts of vast eternity.

To his Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell

This has always been one of my favourite poems, but I think im beginning to grasp his point more and more these days. Time is a ticking, Christmas and the expansion are sneaking up on us, I have work to do in RL (EEK) and oh so much to do in WoW, but im just procrastinating (another favourite word) and making lists.

Guide to Leveling on a PvP server

Whilst leveling my little orcling Ive been considering the whole leveling process and how being pvp flagged effects it. This little guide is just for people rolling brand new alts on servers they dont already have any high levels on.

1. Get mining and skinning. Regardless of the profession you want at the level cap. Obviously it will vary from server to server but on the two ive leveled alts on recently 20 copper goes for 2/3g and iron can be as much as 15g. With these two its easy to make money fast.

2. Using the money you make from mining/skinning, always make sure you have the highest level of health/mana pots you can you.

3. Look out on the AH for upgrades all the time. Thats why having gathering professions pays off. Its hard to make money with crafting professions as you level and its even harder to keep them up to date. For example without large quantities of gold, you cant afford to buy higher level cloth/herbs etc and you cant killing the mobs that drop/protect them.

4. Learn first aid and keep it up to date.

5. Download an addon like Witchhunt. Being aware of your surroundings is crucial to successful and stressfree leveling on pvp servers. This is especially true if you enjoy being the aggressor yourself. Running at a mage three levels lower than yourself is one thing. Running at said Mage and then discovering he is questing with 2 higher level friends is another entirely. Observe your prey first. Make sure they are alone before rushing in.

6. If you are a hunter or a warlock, dont have your pet on aggressive. Its a sure fire way to die in neutral towns plus its awfully embaressing.

Why I love STV

Escort Quests…. grrrrrr

So me and my pet warrior are helping some bloodelf escape from Northwatch. We slaughter our way out of the main gate and then start sauntering off in the general direction of safety. I always thought that one of the key aspects of escaping captivity would involve running or at least hurrying… but oh no… not according to Blizzard. The best way to escape any heavily fortified area is to walk slowly and casually away from all the armed men. Whilst i accept it might work in practise, its annoying to say the least when you are trying to level.

To add insult to injury, this particular bloodelf kept saying “keep up the pace” as if we were the daudling ones. Grrrrrrrrr.

The Explorer’s League, pt 2

I still cant believe it took them less than a day to figure out where this is. My guildmates must have too much time on their hands.

A little bit more about my characters, pt 2

Amaryllis

My level 70 resto shaman, leveled partly out of necessity to cover the gap left when all our resto shamans decided to discover real life at the same time just before the Sunwell lauched.

Favourite Pet:

Most prized item: This is a hard one, I pretty much powerleveled to 70 alongside the boyfriend’s gnome rogue so I dont have anything from Vanilla WoW. As soon as i hit 70 i specced resto and started doing Kara/TK/SSC alt runs with the guild before moving into BT/MH farm raids and thus everything was pretty much handed to me on a plate, for the greater good of the guild but even so.

She is primarily a chain heal spammer, if its not broke….

Thunderbluff

Ive always liked the Taurens, and somehow this screenshot looking up towards Thunderbluff captures the green and freshness of Mulgore.

Shark Attack

The waters of Azeroth are inhabited by a range of dangerous and predatory beasts, but it seems the sharpest teeth of all belong to……

the Druid. Thats right folks, be nice to your resident tree hugging shapeshifting friends, you never know when you will be swimming along side them.

A Brief Introduction

So, I’ve been playing WoW and reading other people’s blogs for a while now, just never quite managed to take that first step until now. However a little while ago, our guild “mum” Seph started her own blog and after reading hers for a bit I decided to jump into the blogosphere myself.

I currently have 5 70 characters, 2 of which are priests, hence the “holy nova”, one of my favourite spells. The other 3 are the other 3 healing classes, paladin, druid and shaman.

I also have a bad tempered and generally grumpy gnomeling in tow, otherwise known as the boyfriend. He can usually be found stabbing people in the back or lurking polishing his daggers, awaiting victims.
