When I ride through Hillsbrad I give those bears with the spider eggs on their back a wide berth because I have this visceral moment of fear whenever I set eyes on them. However this little cub inspires another sort of reaction.
I’m left wondering why my heal pet button doesn’t cleanse those evil eggs off his little back.
He and his similarly effected brothers and sisters can be found with their parents running around between the mine and the Sludge fields.

…..I didn’t realize that was going to be a pet.
Grats Blizz. You’ve finally made a mini pet that I ABSOLUTELY WILL NEVER HAVE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY SOMEONE GET THE EGGS OFF OF THAT POOR BEAR.
I was briefly hopeful that he wouldn’t keep them because he loses them during the pet battle but as soon as I caught him and pulled him out, there they were 😦
He might be a great pet for an Undead Hunter with a bone spider pet but I can’t see him with my Gnome.
I’m twitching just looking at that picture. Ugh.
Oh no! I do such a good job of avoiding the bears I didn’t even know there were poor infested cubs. Thanks for trying to heal him, it’s the thought that counts, poor cub.
He’s even got hibernate as a pet battle ability, not sure he knows he’s dead 😦
NOOOOO nononononono. /turns into No Cat
Curious to see how many people use them as their day to day mini pet. I can see quite a few Undead rogues scurrying about with one by their side.
But yes, basically it’s Noooooooooooooooo!
The adult bears disturb me , this is just ewwww! What was blizzard thinking.
There are quite a few diseased/infected mini pets with MoP, Undead squirrels and fawns spring to mind and I’d have been fine if it was the model minus the eggs but they’re a step too far.
I absolutely hate that quest!
I saw that the bear was in the pet journal and didn’t like the fact that I’ll have to look at one long enough that I’ll have to capture it but I will for the quota and achievement =/
Me too. I’ve only done Hillsbrad once post Cataclysm but I pretty much had my eyes shut for that whole bit. Hitting people on the head with a spade to put them out of their misery = fine, bears infested with spiders = sick.
It’s the sound the eggs make that perturbs me the most.
Always makes me look over my shoulder as if some nasty creature just popped free behind me. Urgggh.
Noooo oh no that’s too sad :c
I know. The only upside is that they’re part of the undead family so hopefully it doesn’t hurt any more 😦
I won’t ever have that pet. The whole quest made me terribly, terribly sad, and I can’t have a reminder of it. 😦
