#IntPiPoMo – The Last Hours of Pandaria

Pandaria whilst beautiful has never been one of my favourite expansions. I’m much more a frozen tundra, fractured ice or burning broken land sort of girl. That said, I still have favourite bolt holes dotted around and I thought on the last day of the expansion that it was only fitting to show you a few of them.

#WoWscreenshotaday: The October Diaries

Tycertank that temptress is yet again running her #WoWscreenshotaday prompt. I admit it feels somewhat fortuitous because I seem to have stopped taking and posting screenshots with anywhere near the frequency I used to. However whether or not I make it to the end of the month still remains to be seen. I particularly like the prompt this time around though because it seems to me at least to give way more scope.

A is for Apple Tree.

WoWScrnShot_100714_212900

B is for Boat.

WoWScrnShot_100714_211556

C is for Carriage or Coach.

WoWScrnShot_091614_204055

D is for Downpour, Drenched and Drowned which most of Menethil is these days.

WoWScrnShot_093014_161246

E is for  Éboulement. Now this might seem like cheating to some however you can use it in English although you might get called pretentious.

F is for Fishing.

G is for Ghost.

Days 10 through 13 – A Screenshot A Day

Here’s the next installment of November’s A Screenshot A Day.

Day 10 – Book

WoWScrnShot_110813_124425

It makes you wonder what sort of titles the Undead and Demonic denizens of Karazhan have an issue with.  Is this a pile of romantic novels crackling away or perhaps religious tomes?

Day 11 – A Memory

WoWScrnShot_110813_123443

Here we see love’s young dream is just a distant memory.

Day 12 – Clouds

Days 13 – Part of Me

WoWScrnShot_110913_221412

I’m far too fond of chewing gum and can’t leave home without it in my bag. Thanks to Daeaye of the Wyvern’s Tail now I can even chew it in-game.

Blackguard’s Jetsam

It’s always been the detail of WoW which has acted as it’s biggest draw to me. The little twists and turns hidden in plain sight, the things which make you smile over again and again.

Finding a cave entrance lurking below the water’s edge is exciting enough.

Discovering ghost pirates hiding within even better.

Slaughtering said spectral sea dogs and then stealing their treasure adds the extra icing on the cake (which you can do once a week). They can also drop spectral grog which makes you dead like them.

However when you return the following day expecting an empty cave or just plain and simple hostile pirates, it’s  lovely touch to find them neutral and hanging out inspecting their booty.

Day 7 – A Screenshot A Day

Today’s prompt is White.

WoWScrnShot_091411_110221

This isn’t a new shot but given that I love all three elements, the mount, the mini pet and the zone, I decided I was going to post it anyway.

To balance that out, I thought I’d post a picture with white elements that I took today.

This is a seagull sitting on our neighbour’s roof, looking out over the village and planning whatever seagulls plan.

Day 4: Alone – A Screenshot A Day

alone

For Day 4 of Tycertank‘s September Challenge, I’d like to present a screenshot from one of my favourite quests.

In his time of uncertainty, the last emperor walked a lonely path up this mountain, until he had at last found his answers.

Endgame: The Monk’s Gambit

So I bit the bullet and leveled. My monk is now 90 and having a surprisingly large amount of fun. Ever contrary it seems that as everyone else is losing that WoW feeling, I’ve got my groove back.

This weekend I found myself uttering the words I never expected to slip past my lips, “Let’s just queue to Strand of the Ancients because it’s the call to arms and it’s amazing”. As it turns out, on monks it is a great place to pvp because of all the utility which comes as a standard regardless of spec. No one else slowing vehicles, fine, I can do it myself at no mana or chi cost to myself. No one else cc’ing chasing opponents, no problem, slow one, paralyze one, silence one, disarm one and rinse and repeat. Finally I have the control my control freak nature appreciates.

I’ve also being doing a lot of Tol Barad as it’s an easy five hundred honor per game. It’s just a shame that the Horde on my server don’t see the point of queuing up. This is one zone that I really wish was cross realm as I miss the massive battles with three raid groups we had the start of Cataclysm when it was new and shiny and gave semi useful rewards.

tol barad
In between PvP, I’ve started leveling archaeology. My goal for this week is to cap it out and also hopefully acquire as many of the interesting items as possible. The pick up, put down nature of it suits being interwoven in between battleground queues and the screenshot opportunities it provides suits me down to the ground.

wetlands

I’m almost completely geared in the current honor set and my conquest point count is climbing nicely so the next thing on the agenda will be to run those scenarios so I can experience the Battlefield which has become the Barrens prior to the patch. Given all those happy days I spent pvping in the Barrens it seems only fitting that my journey should take me there again.

It’s a beautiful life

In the slackest fashion ever, we’re currently leveling mostly from pet battles. This has meant a fair amount of riding between zones and I’ve been taking a lot of screenshots. Not sure how I failed to notice the Darkshire written in the wrought iron gates before or just how beautiful Westfall on fire is, but that’s what I love about WoW, there is always something new to spot.
